It has been 16 years since that unforgettable day I was given my breast cancer diagnosis. This caused life as I knew it to screech to a halt. I was sure I was at the end! My initial reaction was shock and disbelief! I struggled, but soon discovered many blessings hidden in my journey. I was fortunate to have many special angels in my life: my Healthcare team; loving family & friends; dear coworkers; and Pink Survivor Sisters who paved the way. They gave me strength, and I am grateful for their presence. I feel honored as a volunteer to share lessons learned with newly diagnosed women. I have received so much more that I could hope to give back. It may seem strange, but I wouldn’t trade this bump in the road for anything. I cherish and find joy and miracles in each day as these truly are the big moments of our lives.
