I was 46 years old when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, stage 2B invasive ductal carcinoma and invasive metastatic carcinoma in my lymph nodes. I had a radical mastectomy followed by chemotherapy. Through my journey I have learned that each day is truly a gift. I became a much stronger woman and learned to never take things for granted, not to sweat the small stuff and there is only so much you have any control over. When my friends said they were sorry I had to go through this, I said I’m not sorry because I have learned and grown so much as a woman. I am happy with who I’ve become. We all go through situations in our lives and there are always positives to be found. Sometimes we just need to look a little harder!!
