I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma at the age of 45. I had a double mastectomy but did not need to have chemo or radiation. Throughout my journey, many people asked me how I remained so positive after getting diagnosed with breast cancer. I explained that the diagnosis is there and there’s no turning back now! Of course there were bumps in the road, but positivity and the support of my family and friends got me through each day! Since my diagnosis, I see life in a whole new way and am grateful for every day and the new pink sisters I have met on my journey!
